The side programme includes e.g. a light art symposium and restaurant discounts

An international symposium on light art, entitled Invisible Light, will be held from 11 am to 7 pm on Wednesday 8 January at the Kiasma Theatre within the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma. Beside artists from Lux Helsinki, the symposium’s speakers will include international top names in the field. The symposium is open for everyone and the entry is free of charge. 

Charity cafés will be run by Kympin Lapset at Kansalaistori and by the Lions Club next to the National Opera’s amphitheatre. Lux Helsinki restaurant discounts will be offered by the National Museum’s café, Cafe Vanha, restaurants Sunn and Nuevo close to Senate Square, and restaurant Macu at Hotel Crowne Plaza in Töölö. 

Beside the official installations of Lux Helsinki, other lightning venues include the Hbl 150 Years Anniversary Lighting and the light art installation Blue Line above the inner city’s longest undivided street axis, The Union Axis.
